DISTINGUISHED CADET

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to one cadet who exhibits the highest degree of excellence in scholastics

ACADEMIC EXECELLENCE

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to one cadet in each LET level for maintaining highest school academic grades.

N-1-3

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to those cadets that maintain a grade of "A" in all academic subjects.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets with no unexcused absence during each quarter/semester.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT

CRITERIA: Elected to a student government office.

LEADERSHIP EDUCATION TRAINING SERVICE

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets successfully completing first quarter/semester of training of each LET year.

HONOR ROLL RIBBON

CRITERIA: Awarded to those cadets whose name is published on the school honor roll.

HONOR CADET RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded at the end of each semester to those students in each academic year level of each school that have qualified as good citizens.

CADET OF THE YEAR RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to one cadet in each year level as the most outstanding of all cadets of the month for the school year.

CADET OF THE MONTH RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded to the most outstanding cadet in each year level of each battalion for a particular calendar month.  Criteria are military academic, attendance, and over-all participation.

VARSITY ATHLETICS

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets that excel in varsity sports.

N-2-2 

PHYSICAL FITNESS

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets who maintain excellent physical fitness. Male cadets must run one mile in 8:30 minutes or less; females in 10:45 minutes or less.

JROTC ATHLETICS

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets that excel in ROTC athletics.

ATHELITIC ACHIEVEMENT RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually who earn a "Club Varsity Letter" for either drill or rifle team and/or athletic letter in a varsity sport.

ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to those cadets who are awarded the "Certificate of Participation" for either drill team or rifle team and/or participants in sport for one season and do not letter.

DAI/SAI INSTRUCTOR LEADERSHIP

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to one cadet per LET level who displays the highest degree of leadership.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets who consistently present an outstanding appearance.

PROFICIENCY

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to those cadets who have demonstrated an exceptionally high degree of leadership, academic achievement, and performance of duty.

DRILL TEAM

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to drill team members.

ORIENTEERING

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets who are members of orienteering teams.

COLOR GUARD

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to members of color/honor guard.

RIFLE TEAM RIBBON

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to rifle team members.

ADVENTURE TRAINING

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to cadets who are members of adventure training type units.

COMMENDATION RIBBON

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets whose performance of duty exceptionally exceeds the expected of a cadet of his grade and experience.

GOOD CONDUCT

CRITERIA: Awarded annually to the cadets who have demonstrated outstanding conduct throughout the school.

SUMMER CAMP

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets for summer camp participation.

MARKMANSHIP RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to those cadets who qualify in the marksmanship program.

COMPETITIVE DRILL (INDIVIDUAL) RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to those cadets who place first through third in an individual drill competition.

N-3-14 

COMPETITIVE DRILL (UNIT) RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to those cadets who are members of a drill unit placing first through third in a drill competition.

N-3-15 

ROUND ROBIN RIFLE MATCH RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to members of a rifle team placing first through third in each category, men/women, in the annual round robin rifle matches.

N-4-1 

PARADE RIBBON

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets who have participated in local community parades; i.e., Veterans' Day Parade, Memorial Day Parade, etc.

RECRUITING RIBBON

CRITERIA: Awarded to cadets who recruit students into the JROTC program each quarter/semester.

N-4-3 

VOLUNTEER SERVICE RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded to those cadets who have rendered extra service at least 4 times during the semester.  (one award per semester)

GUIDON BEARER RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded to those cadets who have been designated as guidon bearer for their unit (in addition to their regualr assigned duty) for one semester.

N-4-5

PUBLIC ACHIEVEMENT RIBBON

CRITERIA:  Awarded annually to those cadets who make a significant contribution to good publicity for the JROTC program.

 

Unit Awards

Honor Unit Insignia. Each member of a unit designated as an Honor Unit will be awarded the Honor Unit Insignia (blue star).
Honor Unit with Distinction Insignia. Each member of a unit designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction will be awarded the Honor Unit with Distinction Insignia (yellow star).
Academic Achievement Insignia. A gold wreath authorized for wear by cadets in the top ten percent of each JROTC class based on grades earned in JROTC courses, as determined by the SAI. Subsequent awards are indicated by a felt pad center background:

For second award---a red pad.

For third award---a silver pad.

For fourth award---a gold pad.

Marksmanship Badges

Marksman 

Fire 10 shots standing and 10 shots prone with a score of 110-129.

Sharpshooter

Fire 10 shots standing and 10 shots prone with a score of 130-200.

Expert

Fire 10 shots prone, 10 shots standing, and 10 shots kneeling with a score of 230-300.
