SYLLABUS

A pre-employment lab course with job specific training for entry level employment in video and television production careers. Includes operation of different types of cameras, mastery of audio techniques, electronic editing, creation of media graphics, lighting, script writing, direction, production, special effects, signal control and monitoring equipment, set design, entrepreneurship, safety, leadership, and career opportunities. Media Technology shall include the essential trade and industrial educational elements and the following essential elements:

1. Understand and operate different types of cameras

2. Demonstrate understanding and mastery of audio techniques

3. Demonstrate videotape recorder operation and electronic editing skills

4. Demonstrate ability to create media graphics

5. Identify and apply the principles of lighting

6. Demonstrate ability to script, direct, and produce media productions

7. Understand and utilize various capabilities of of Television switching and special effects and systems

8. Understand and utilize various video signal control and monitoring equipment

9. Utilize the principles of set design
